in the midst
of planning and worrying about wedding reception details, the world continues, sometimes in horrible ways. This past weekend I staffed a conference at Duke on US Sponsored Torture. I plan to write a more extensive post about the conference, but right now I want to mention that on Friday a friend’s brother, working in Damascus, was taken by the Syrian government and is being held without charges. His name is Mohammed Radwan and he is American.
While I have to accomplish tasks on my list, it heaviness of Mohammed’s situation is constantly on my mind. I will post again on his situation specifically- expect something by the end of the day.
